I formed my company, Dukes Building, in early 2018. After spending many years in the construction industry I began doing business on my own out of a desire to both provide excellent building services to the good people of the Skagit Valley and to allow to me to provide well for my growing family in this rapidly growing part of the country.

How I’m different

There are many good contractors in this valley, and I am one of them. Unfortunately for every time I hear someone say something good about contractors they’ve hired in the past, I hear three stories of incompetent and careless builders. You won’t hear any of those stories in reference to me.

When you hire me you get someone who will:

The backstory

Before starting my construction business I worked in a myriad of fields as diverse as spray foam insulation, new residential construction, complete restoration of 100+ year old homes, commercial construction, beekeeping, mining, building and grounds maintenance, ranching and dairying, tree care (arboriculture), and even drove commercially for a time.

I’ve tried a lot of things, but nothing has worked quite as well, or been quite as enjoyable, as building.

It allows me the daily pleasure of helping other people live better lives.

I get to bring fresh life into old homes, and turn my customers dreams into realities.

Most importantly I get to provide well for my family and spend time with them while living in this beautiful corner of the country.

I am not your average contractor: I do what I say I will do, when I say I will do it, and I see my work through to completion.
